Callfilter.app was originally designed to work anonymously. The app does not ask for a phone number or email and does not use any user or phone IDs. Each time you install the app, a new ID is generated, completely unique and not associated with anything.
Despite all of the above, Callfilter.app does not suit all supporters of anonymity on the Internet, members of various anonymous communities and users of DeGoogled devices.
The reason is that the original version of the app includes Google Firebase Crashlytics, which transmits anonymous statistics and information about app errors to Google's servers. This information is completely anonymized, no user data can leak through it, but still some people don't like it.
We can't give up the Crashlytics tool in the main version of the app, as it has saved us many times and helped us during debugging, so we are releasing an additional anonymous version of the app.
The anonymous version will have the same version number as the main app branch, but will have the suffix “-anonymous”. New versions of the anonymous branch of the app will be released following new versions of the main branch.
Currently, the anonymous version differs from the main version only by disabling data collection for Google Firebase Crashlytics, but other differences will appear in the future. We will take into account the wishes of the users.
Anonymous license payment via cryptocurrency will also be implemented in the anonymous version.
